The National Science Foundation recognizes service-learning as a "high impact practice," and numerous STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) faculty enhance their courses by incorporating community experiences through service-learning. In the realm of higher education, what does service learning entail? How does its implementation within STEM disciplines contribute positively to student success, encompassing academic achievement, career development, and civic engagement?
