The Week of Engagement is an annual event that takes place during National Volunteer Week. It is a time for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to come together and make a difference in our community, while celebrating the impact our community has made in the past year.

100,000+ Service Hours | 6,000+ Students
In 2022, over 6,000 WVU students, faculty, staff, and alumni to contributed over 100,000 service hours to our community. This is over a $2.5 million impact value! These hours were dedicated to a variety of projects, including:
- Tutoring at local schools
- Cleaning up parks and trails
- Serving meals at local shelters
- City beautification projects
- Rehabilitating injured birds
- Releasing trout
- And much more!
These service hours made a real difference in the lives of our community members. They helped to make our community a better place to live, work, and learn.
We are proud of the work that we did in 2022, and we are excited to continue to make a difference in our community in the years to come.

30+ Service-Learning Courses
There are over 30 service-learning courses that allow students to combine their academic learning with hands-on service in the community. These courses are a great way for students to learn about different social issues, develop their leadership skills, and make a difference in the lives of others.
