Agnes Mathenge

Agnes Gakenia Mathenge is a Graduate Assistant with the CCE for the AmeriCorps Vista Program. At the Center, she supports in grant writing, data collection for the AmeriCorps Program, and other office administration tasks. She enjoys working at the CCE because it allows her to advance her passion for community development through community engagement. She is currently a PhD Student at WVU’s Department of Geography and Geology.

Agnes is from Nairobi, Kenya and has over 8 years’ experience working in international development in Africa, UK, and USA. She has managed and implemented programs that drive impact and create positive change across a variety of sectors including ICT, Trade, Education, Climate Change, Water and Sanitation.  She holds a master’s in development studies, and a Bachelor’s in Mathematical Business Economics and is a certified trade policy expert with the National Trade Board in Sweden. Outside school and work, she enjoys travelling and has been to 12 countries.
